JOB TITLE: Upholsterer

REPORTS TO: Upholstery Supervisor / Upholstery Leads
SUMMARY:
The Upholsterer is responsible for securing fabric and leather to wood frames using hand tools and pneumatic staplers in a climateâcontrolled environment. This position involves continuous standing and requires flexibility for overtime based on production demands.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
⢠Secure fabric and leather to frames using staple guns, air rackets, and drills.
⢠Match materials with corresponding frames and upholster all frame components.
⢠Follow product specifications on traveler documents, including medallions, leg colors, welting, brass tacks, springs, webbing, and additional order details.
⢠Correct crooked seams and smooth out staple bumps.
⢠Visually inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
⢠Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
⢠Proficient with air tools, including:
ââ Staple gun
ââ Air racket
ââ Drill
ââ Blower
⢠Ability to identify appropriate nuts, bolts, and screws by style.
⢠Experience working with welting on front posts.
⢠Capable of assembling frames and installing mechanisms.
⢠Able to detect sewing defects and material flaws during upholstery.
⢠Physical strength to handle and stretch heavy materials for extended periods.
⢠Strong attention to detail, particularly in seam alignment and final quality checks.
