Upholsterer I

• GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
  
  
  
  • Responsible for upholstering task seating, sofas, and loveseats.
  
  
  
  


• SPECIFIC DUTIES OR TASKS 
  
  
  
  • Upholstery fabric/leather/vinyl as per design specifications.
  
  
  • Ability to read and follow work order instructions.
  
  
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools required for chair upholstery.
  
  
  • Ability to lift and carry 50-70 lbs.
  
  
  • Ability to upholster 25% of product styles at plus 90% efficiency.
  
  
  
  


• SKILLS REQUIREMENT
  Experience in upholstery is preferred.


• SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH, AND SAFETY (EHS)
  
  
  
  • Consistently follows EHS general rules and procedures and is aware of the EHS policy.
  
  
  • Demonstrates good initiative for working safely, reporting, and participating in EHS.
  
  
  
  


• PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands, arm, and finger dexterity with both hands involved in activities such as reaching, gripping, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 and occasionally over 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


• WORK ENVIRONMENT
  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


• PPE REQUIREMENTS
  Employees are required to wear safety glasses and steel toe shoes all times. Safety gloves and ear plugs can be provided if needed.
