Duties and Responsibilities:
Glues foam to armatures.
Forms, glues and staples vinyl to foamed armatures.
Assembles and packages doctor and assistant stools.
Works with assemblers and area Unit Specialists to exchange work information, both providing and receiving training.
May train less experienced Upholsterers.
Achieves and maintains quality and productivity standards, follows all safety guidelines, and maintains acceptable dependability level.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated manual dexterity required.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to
follow written and oral instructions and troubleshoot problems when necessary.
Understanding of proper hazardous waste disposal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Hazardous Waste
Employees in this job may be required, as a function of their assigned duties, to generate or otherwise handle hazardous waste material. When determined by the supervisor that assigned duties will require hazardous waste material handling, within 6 months of acquiring this position and at yearly intervals subsequent to initial training, hazardous material training in accordance with A- dec’s Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure/Hazardous Waste Management Contingency Plan, Appendix 8 – Hazardous Waste Management Training Plan is required.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand/sit in a stationary position, use hands/fingers to handle and operate tools and equipment, repetitively push and pull, occasionally reaching, with the arms. Employee must be able to see in order to work, inspect, and identify issues, and must be able talk and hear in order to communicate. The employee is occasionally required to walk/traverse, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
The employee is frequently required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds with or without assistance, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The job occasionally requires lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds with/without assistance.
Work Environment: The employee is regularly exposed to indoor conditions in a manufacturing environment, which includes exposure to fumes, mists, gasses, odors, noise, and vibration. The employee is also exposed to mechanical, chemical, and burn hazards.
Essential Equipment and Tools: Forming machine, glue booth, press fixtures, gluing robot, industrial sewing machine, CNC cutter, pneumatic staplers, glue guns, forming molds, heat gun, and air driver. Chemicals include adhesive, lacquer thinner, rubbing alcohol, activator, accelerator, and various cleaners.
Employee is required to wear safety glasses and ear protection.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.
