Centra Health services a population of 600,000 community members with 70 different outpatient and specialty practices. Centra offers primary care and specialty services across Central and Southern Virginia—from Lynchburg to Danville, Farmville, Moneta, and Bedford. CMG includes family practices, specialists, and surgeons in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, urology, and more.

CMG is also home to the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency, a training program for future family physicians, many of whom hold academic appointments with institutions like UVA, VCU, VCOM, and Liberty University.

Centra Medical Group is seeking a full-time family medicine physician for our Urgent Care Facility in Forest, Virginia.  A great opportunity for physicians seeking the freedom of shiftwork and no call.

Position/Practice Highlights:

• Shift work – no call
• Open 8am – 8pm, Monday – Sunday
• 142 - 12-hour shifts required per year
• Volume:  2.5-3 patients per hour during a 12-hour shift
• Providers scheduled per shift: 2-3 depending on volume, day of the week, and season
• Efficient assessment of all patients present
• Treatment and evaluation of adult and pediatric patients with minor/appropriate medical conditions
• Simple suturing, incisions and drainage
• Initial simple fracture care
• X-ray interpretation with radiology backup doing real time read
   

Required Education: Completion of medical degree and residency training in a primary care specialty from an American Medical Association- (AMA) approved program or other schools with credentials approved by the Medical Staff and Board of Centra

Required Certifications and Licensures: MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialists (ABM) board in physician's primary specialty
