Used Car Buyer

Are you passionate about cars and skilled at building relationships? Friendly Chevrolet in Fridley, MN is looking for a Used Car Buyer to join our high-performing sales and acquisition team.

This key position focuses on acquiring vehicles directly from our service drive, identifying trade-in opportunities, and creating win-win solutions for our customers and dealership. The ideal candidate is driven, personable, and able to recognize value in every customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with customers in the service drive to evaluate and acquire pre-owned vehicles.


• Perform accurate vehicle appraisals using market data, condition reports, and dealership tools.


• Present competitive purchase offers to customers and guide them through the selling process.


• Coordinate vehicle purchases with the Used Car Manager and Appraisal Team.


• Identify sales opportunities and facilitate the purchase of a new or pre-owned replacement vehicle (either personally or by handing off to a sales consultant).


• Maintain excellent relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.


• Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation.


• Work collaboratively with the sales, service, and finance teams to ensure smooth transactions.

Qualifications:

• Automotive retail or wholesale buying experience preferred, but not required.


• Proven ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with customers.


• Knowledge of used vehicle valuation tools (vAuto, Kelley Blue Book, etc.) a plus.


• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.


• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
