Capitol Chevrolet is seeking an experienced Used Car Director to join one of the biggest Chevrolet dealerships in the country. Only candidates with proven used-car management experience will be considered. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who can build a strong team, drive sales and profitability, and keep inventory priced, marketed, and ready to sell.

Responsibilities

• 
  

  Lead daily used-car operations, including sales, appraisals, purchasing, pricing, and inventory management.

  
  


• 
  

  Grow sales volume and gross profit while maintaining inventory turn and controlling aged units.

  
  


• 
  

  Source quality inventory through trades, direct purchases, auctions, and other acquisition channels.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage reconditioning timelines to get vehicles frontline-ready quickly and cost-effectively.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure online listings feature accurate pricing, quality photos, and complete vehicle information.

  
  


• 
  

  Coach sales managers and salespeople on follow-up, appointments, closing, and customer experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor lead response, conversion rates, departmental expenses, and performance goals.

  
  


• 
  

  Partner with service, finance, and dealership leadership to improve department results.

  
  

Qualifications

  Proven success in used-car management with responsibility for inventory and profitability.

  Strong appraisal, acquisition, pricing, and desking skills.

  Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and hold a team accountable.

  Strong understanding of market trends, inventory aging, and dealership performance metrics.

  Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.

  Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
