Utility Sewer Furniture Manufacturing

Symbiotic Services is seeking an experienced Utility Sewer for a furniture manufacturing opportunity in Conover, NC. This position is ideal for a versatile sewing professional with experience across multiple furniture and upholstery sewing techniques.

Position Summary

The Utility Sewer is responsible for sewing a variety of upholstery components using multiple industrial sewing techniques. The position requires experience working with complex fabrics, interpreting production specifications, and consistently producing high-quality work in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform various furniture sewing techniques, including Topstitch, French Seam, Zigzag, Cable Stitch, and Serger/Surge sewing.
  
  


• Complete repairs to inside and outside upholstery parts and components according to specifications.
  
  


• Work accurately with complex fabrics and upholstery materials.
  
  


• Read and understand production tickets, specifications, and work instructions.
  
  


• Maintain accuracy, efficiency, and quality throughout the sewing process.
  
  


• Meet established production and craftsmanship standards.
  
  


• Work independently while supporting production requirements.
  
  


• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of furniture sewing experience required.
  
  


• Experience with multiple industrial sewing techniques strongly preferred.
  
  


• High school diploma or GED preferred.
  
  


• Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  
  


• Basic computer knowledge.
  
  


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  
  


• Ability to work independently.
  
  


• Ability to work a full-time schedule.
  
  


• Flexibility to work overtime when required.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, handle, and carry 25+ pounds.
  
  


• Ability to perform repetitive sewing and production tasks for extended periods.
  
  


• Ability to meet the physical demands of a full-time furniture manufacturing environment.
