Utility/Heavy Equipment Operators-May2026

BNI Coal, Ltd., a BNI Energy company and subsidiary of ALLETE, Inc. with locations in Bismarck & Center, ND is now accepting applications for the following positions at the Center Mine, Center, ND:  utility/heavy equipment operators.

Responsibilities:  General labor as utility/heavy equipment operator including:

• Operate and maintain large mining equipment 
• Pump water and maintain pumps, and assist mechanics
• Must be proficient in operating large mining equipment and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Shift work

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Three years’ work experience.  Two year college degree may be substituted for 2 years work experience
• Experience in operating large construction/earth moving equipment is required
• Experience with electrical, welding, dragline maintenance, or diesel mechanics are preferred but not required
•  Computer skills desired

Probationary wage is $41.05/hour, $53.26/hour after six months.
