Job Description
Join our team at CDS as a Mid-Level User Experience Designer. You will be working for the UX manager on the Product Design team. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing event experiences for top show organizers worldwide. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for our web and mobile applications. Utilize your expertise in user research and design to create innovative solutions that align with user needs and business objectives.

This is a Chicago based, salaried position. Work arrangement is hybrid/remote.
Job Responsibilities
As a Mid-Level User Experience Designer at CDS, your role encompasses responsibilities that align with the skills and experience outlined below, along with additional tasks listed here:
Design and implement on-site event technology
Design and implement internal products for CDS employees.
Collaborate with event organizers, exhibitors, and attendees
Collect user feedback and conduct testing during events.
Balance creativity, problem-solving, and business considerations to deliver exceptional experiences
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, including web and mobile applications.
A portfolio showcasing your previous UX projects and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in user research methodologies including usability testing, user interviews, stakeholder interviews, and gathering requirements.
Strong understanding of interaction design (UI) principles and ability to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
Skilled in using tools such as Figma, Jira, and Aha.
Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and creating high-fidelity designs.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Familiarity with agile development processes and the ability to adapt to dynamic project requirements.
Strong communication skills to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
Passion for staying updated with the latest design trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
Native mobile app design and responsive design proficiency.
Bonus: Familiarity with design systems and front-end libraries.
Bonus: Experience leading and mentoring design teams.
Bonus: Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards for inclusive designs.

Location & Travel
Ideal candidates for the Mid-Level User Experience Designer position will be located in Chicago, Illinois, with the ability to travel to convention centers in the Chicagoland area once a month for essential user research purposes. Rest assured, all travel-related expenses, including gas, parking, and lunch, will be fully covered by CDS. Travel may also include in-person company meetings to collaborate and plan with the team.
Work Schedule
Business hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Extended business hours and weekends may be required.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; drive, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
