Valet Position / The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is seeking valet staff for employment. Their responsibilities include providing exemplary service to Hobby Center patrons and enforcing theater policies at all Hobby Center events. Preferred candidates will have experience in customer service, valet, and above-average driving skills. Experience in event venues is a plus.

Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, customer service & communication skills, team building, and business acumen. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• The valet’s number one priority is being able to drive and park expensive/luxury vehicles in a safe and professional manner.


• Valets must have the ability at various times to expedite vehicles from designated locations throughout the high traffic garage and self-park areas.


• Events & shows will require the valet to run for extended periods of time to facilitate operations.


• Greet all guests in a friendly and accommodating manner, open vehicle doors, tag keys, and assist with any unloading/loading needs.


• The valet attendant will have to answer questions a patron may have about valet procedures, venue policies, or local directions.


• Direct traffic in parking areas and assist guests on ingress/egress.

Knowledge and Skills

• The ability to drive in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining composure and the integrity of the vehicles.


• Being able to drive a standard/stick is a plus.


• Being able to focus on active surroundings with common sense and safety. (For example, high pedestrian traffic mixed with high vehicle traffic.)


• Personal, group and service communication is a must. (Bilingual is a plus)


• Job requires physical stamina due to outdoor activity and running.


• Knowledge of local culture and places.


• An understanding of team goals.

Requirements

• Applicants must pass a background check


• A valid, state-issued driver’s license


• Minimum 18 years old


• Proper etiquette and appearance

• High School Diploma or equivalent
