Validation Engineer / Lab IT Engineer Responsibilities:

• Documenting and management of lab applications licenses
• Installation and integration of computerized laboratory instruments in the labs
• Moving PCs in Cambridge lab to new domain
• Provide administrative support for lab systems and applications
• Provide technical troubleshooting support including but not limited to lab applications and computerized lab instruments
• Create, track and close service tickets while delivering excellent customer service experience
• Provide operational IT lab support to science groups
• Provide hands-on configurations as needed including onboarding analytical instruments
• Support Lab IT projects and initiatives

Requirements

• Must be willing to work onsite in Boston, MA
• Experience providing computer hardware, application support and computer networking support
• Experience providing environment training for end users
• Experience working within a SDLC methodology and leveraging templates, tools, processes
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills and experience supporting specialized software and hardware
• Independently motivated and detailed oriented
• Can work collaboratively and be a partner to Laboratory Information Systems IT
• Takes initiative and lead on troubleshooting investigations
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
• Proficiency using PC and Microsoft Office tools
• Outgoing personality with strong ability to communicate effectively with peers in clear, concise terms
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• GMP and Good Documentation Practice
• Intermediate skills with WORD (authoring/editing large technical documents with styles, tables, TOCs, track changes)
• Basic skills with EXCEL and PowerPoint
• Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication capabilities
• Experience with and tolerance for high levels of challenge and change
