Varsity Baseball Head Coach

Job Title: VARSITY Baseball Head Coach -

Department: Athletics

Direct Supervisor: Athletic Director

Essential Job Functions and Requirements:

• Manage all aspects of the VARSITY baseball program (including directing the JV & MS teams) from recruiting through college placement.

• Provide knowledge and skills, techniques, teamwork, and game strategy.

• Manage and direct scouting, recruiting, conditioning, videoing, training, and practice as directed.

• Support the Athletic Department in scheduling of games per the Athletic Directors requirements (typically 15-25 total games and scrimmages)

• Be responsible for organization, distribution and care of equipment and apparel.

• Communicate with families from the initial application process though placement and completion of the program.

• Create a competitive environment and positive atmosphere for student athletes on and off the field/court.

• Support barracks supervision and provide a positive role model in the military bearing.

• Provide academic support of athletes, and program promotion.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Special Tasks: MFSAB (Minibus) VA state certification

Off season weekend duties

Nighttime OC duties

Weight-room supervision

Concussion certification

CPR

Other professional development as offered by the Academy

Work Schedule: On a normal day the hours are from no later than 8:30am until 4:30pm. These hours can change because of athletic contests on weekends and during evening hours. Present at all VARSITY baseball related events, practices and responsible for locker room supervision. Will coordinate with and support the Commandant's Department regarding VARSITY (& JV) Baseball players behavioral performance. Will serve on the academy duty roster. The athletic staff, including the Director, should be expected to work a minimum of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
