Description

Position Summary:

The Vascular Surgery Liaison for Dialysis Clinics is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships between dialysis providers and vascular surgeons. This role ensures streamlined patient access to timely vascular access procedures, supports care coordination, and facilitates communication between surgical practices, dialysis clinics, and referring nephrologists. The liaison plays a vital role in improving patient outcomes and minimizing treatment delays.

Key Responsibilities:

· Serve as the primary point of contact between dialysis clinics and vascular surgery practices.

· Coordinate referrals for vascular access procedures (e.g., fistula/graft creation, angioplasty, thrombectomy).

· Educate dialysis clinic staff and nephrologists on surgical scheduling processes, pre-authorization, and clinical documentation requirements.

· Identify new referral opportunities and service at the account level

· Monitor patient access-related issues and work with surgeons and clinics to expedite care.

· Identify and resolve barriers to timely access to the clinics

· Track referral patterns and report trends in access procedures and surgical capacity.

· Conduct regular outreach to nephrologists and dialysis providers to build awareness of surgical services and best practices for access management.

· Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure continuity of care post-procedure.

· Support quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing catheter days and unplanned hospitalizations.

· Represent the vascular surgery program at community and professional events.

· Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines including HIPAA and anti-kickback regulations.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, marketing, or related field (preferred).

· Clinical experience in dialysis, vascular access, or surgical coordination strongly preferred.

· 2+ years of experience in physician relations, healthcare liaison, or referral management roles.

· Familiarity with vascular access procedures and dialysis workflows.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities across facilities.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; regional travel required.

Working Conditions:

Office and field-based role with regular travel to dialysis centers, surgical offices, referring provider offices and hospitals. Occasional after-hours availability for urgent coordination needs and outreach related events.
