Vehicle & Equipment Mechanic - Level II Field Service Technician

About the role

This is a field-forward, hands-on mechanic role. You will be deployed to job sites and roadsides, not just the shop, diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and fleet vehicles in real-world conditions. Under general supervision of the Branch Manager, you will maintain and repair gasoline and diesel-powered light and heavy-duty vehicles, construction machinery, and trailers in the garage and out in the field.

What you'll do

• Perform major and minor repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials


• Diagnose and repair electrical, fuel, ignition, cooling, and emission control systems on class 8 trucks, service vehicles, and construction equipment


• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, hydrostatic, and electro-hydraulic systems including disassembly of pumps and motors


• Respond to and complete roadside or jobsite repairs as needed, in all weather and terrain conditions


• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety compliance repairs


• Maintain and install electrical components: lights, warning systems, starting and charging systems


• Manage parts inventory and complete time, materials, and repair records


• Provide technical guidance to Level I mechanics, customers, and field service reps

Requirements

• Journey-level mechanical experience with diesel and gas engines


• Proven electrical and hydraulic diagnostic skills


• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance and repair records


• Ability to work independently with good judgment

Must pass a drug test and have a clean driving record.
