Vehicle and Equipment Technician

Description

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. is a statewide service provider specializing in retail skilled trade services. As a  Vehicle and Equipment Technician you are responsible for performing maintenance, repairs and inspections on stake beds, 3/4-ton trucks, 1-ton vans, scissor lifts and various yard equipment. The ideal candidate should have at least four years of recent mechanic experience with a strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills and practice safety guidelines. The work schedule is Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance on gasoline-powered engines, including oil and filter changes, tune-ups, and brake replacements
• Inspect and diagnose engines, transmissions, and other components using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and internal teams to provide updates on repair status and job requirements
• Perform test drives of vehicles in compliance with company guidelines
• Inspect trailers and ensure break lights work properly 
• Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with company policies
• Assist with additional duties as needed to support departmental operations

Requirements

• At least four years of recent experience as an auto mechanic
• Proficient in English communication, with the ability to write reports and emails clearly and effectively
• Physically capable of performing the job, including standing, walking, bending, using floor creepers, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
• Valid driver’s license, with the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle background check
