Job Description - Vermont Healthcare Service Specialist I


Overview

The Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA)'s Health Access Eligibility & Enrollment Unit (HAEEU) is seeking a Healthcare Services Support Specialist I, to be a part of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Team.  Work in a supportive work environment with a Monday-Friday schedule, eleven paid state holidays, in addition to a robust benefits package.
 


Job Duties: 



  • The VHSSI position on the UAT Team supports changes within systems used by the other HAEEU teams.  Our team is responsible for researching and testing systems used by the public and other teams within HAEEU to support changes and updates needed, offering scripted scenarios to assist with new changes implemented.

  • The Healthcare Services Specialist I role has the following responsibilities:
    Knowledge and understanding of changes within the system.

  • Research, tests and problem solve within systems for Siebel, Portal, or Eligibility, providing scripted scenarios when HAEEU receives information system change or updates.

  • Tracking of the four-person team's work to detect resolution and successful deployment and assisting in the development of job aids. 

  • Acting out work directly with vendors impacting both the front end and back end of the systems used with specific projects currently underway.

  • Reconciliation of the different systems to ensure all data aligns with the health exchange and our carrier partners.

  • Working closely with other HAEEU teams.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in an office setting. Workload is consistently heavy with constant need for prompt and accurate data enter and decision making. Incumbents must be able to function independently, prioritize their own work and multi-task effectively. Private means of transportation should be available for necessary travel to training and/or meetings. Applicants may provide a variety of challenges including but not limited to highly emotional conditions (i.e. inability to communicate, attempts at falsification, unhappy customers). Work outside of typical business hours may be expected.


Minimum Qualifications

No education or experience required. 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a customer service or call center environment. Ability to use computer programs or experience with data entry, or the ability to explain policies/procedures or rules/regulations
