Veterinary Assistant

VCA Arroyo Grande Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, motivated, and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team! This is a full-time position working four 10-hour shifts per week, including rotating Saturdays.

Our hospital prides itself on providing high-quality patient care while maintaining a supportive, team-focused environment. We are seeking someone who is eager to learn, enjoys a fast-paced setting, and thrives while working collaboratively with doctors and support staff.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments

• Proper animal restraint and handling

• Preparing exam rooms and maintaining hospital cleanliness

• Supporting diagnostic procedures (radiographs, lab samples, etc.)

• Communicating effectively with team members and clients

• Helping maintain a smooth and efficient workflow throughout the hospital

Qualifications:

• Previous veterinary or animal care experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individual

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player

• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

• Compassion for animals and excellent client service skills

Schedule:

• Full-time (4 days per week, 10-hour shifts)

• Includes some Saturdays
