VCA Saukville Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting our medical team and ensuring our patients receive exceptional care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely handling and restraining patients using low-stress techniques.
• Preparing surgical patients, equipment, and the surgical suite.
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples and assisting with diagnostic imaging.
• Preparing and filling prescriptions under veterinary supervision.
• Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records.
• Monitoring and providing compassionate care to hospitalized patients.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital environment.
• Communicating effectively with team members and helping create a welcoming, positive experience for clients and their pets.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is strongly preferred.
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology, medical procedures, and hospital workflows.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy clinical environment.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support fellow team members.
• A desire to continue learning, developing technical skills, and growing within veterinary medicine.
