Veterinary Assistant - Urgent

Working in an urgent care environment is as exhilarating as running a million miles an hour with sand between your paws. PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Assist DVM and technicians with patient restraint and medical treatments
• Communicate effectively with clinical team and clients
• Comfortable with client education (reviewing medications, relaying treatment plans and discharge instructions)
• Obtain radiographs and perform in house bloodwork
• Clean exam rooms and replenish inventory as needed
• Answers telephone calls quickly, efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner
• Warmly greets clients and provide exceptional service
• Entering new client information into the computer system
• Following opening and closing procedures
• Prepares client invoices for services performed
• Handles payment transactions
• Receives and relays telephone, fax, and email messages accurately and promptly

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Urgent care or ER experience preferred but not required
• Able to commit to evening and weekend shifts
