Overnight Veterinary Technician Assistant – ICU (Surgical Specialty Practice)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Veterinary Technician Assistant with prior veterinary experience to join our busy surgical specialty practice and provide overnight care for our ICU patients.

Our Annapolis location is housed in a 28,000 sq. ft. specialty veterinary facility, sharing space with internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, and a 24-hour emergency clinic—offering a dynamic, collaborative, and high-level medical environment.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated Veterinary Technician Assistant with strong clinical skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

Schedule

• Overnight shifts between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.


• Monday–Friday


• Three 12-hour shifts per week

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the care and monitoring of postoperative and critical surgical patients


• Support RVTs and surgeons in the ICU


• Accurately document patient care using electronic treatment sheets


• Use computers confidently for medical records and communication


• Maintain high standards of patient care, communication, and teamwork


• Work independently and efficiently during overnight shifts

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary assistant experience


• Strong patient care and monitoring skills


• Proficiency with electronic medical records and treatment sheets


• Basic to intermediate computer skills


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment


• Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills


• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
