Veterinary ICU Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, team-oriented, veterinary technician to join our growing practice. Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) Hunt Valley location shares a  new (2 yr old)  48,000 sq foot facility with veterinary internists, cardiologists,  ophthalmologists, neurologists, rehabilitation therapists &  a 24-hour emergency clinic.  The building has a CT unit, MRI unit, and an  Underwater Treadmill.

Our ideal candidate must be highly motivated, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work independently. Must be able to work 4 (10 hour) days between the hours of 7a-7p (M-F), and  2 weekend shifts per month (8am-12pm)

Job Title: Veterinary ICU Technician (Hunt Valley)

JOB SUMMARY: The ICU Technician’s role is to promote a professional environment where the emphasis is placed on quality patient care in the ICU. The ICU Technician will be scheduled to work BETWEEN the hours of 7am and 7pm Monday – Friday and plays a vital role in providing competent and compassionate basic care by assisting the surgeons in ICU with their patients. The ICU Technician provides support to the surgeons and all other CVSS employees as needed to ensure high-quality patient and client care.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a veterinary technician working in ICU

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Skill in multitasking, delegating, prioritizing AND accomplishing tasks
• Able to effectively handle stressful situations
• Knowledge base and technical skills should be of a level to ensure carrying out of essential duties and responsibilities

• To provide excellent patient care within the ICU area of CVSS
