Veterinary Laboratory Technician

Friendship Hospital for Animals, a leading AAHA- accredited hospital located in Washington D.C.  is seeking a detail oriented veterinary laboratory technician to support our medical teams in delivering accurate and exceptional care to pets and their families. About the role: 

As a laboratory technician, you will play a key role in supporting the hospital’s in-house laboratory and ensuring smooth daily operations for the hospital. Working closely with various hospital teams to handle and process specimens, run diagnostic tests, and uphold the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and quality. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating and maintaining lab equipment, quality control, and communication of test results in a clear and effective manner.

Schedule: Thursday – Sunday from 7am – 4pm upon completion of successful training. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field (biology, animal science, etc.) is often preferred.


• Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in veterinary medicine or healthcare, is a plus.


• Familiarity with laboratory protocols, equipment, and procedures.


• Basic understanding of lab safety, including OSHA guidelines
