Full-Time | On-site | Privately Owned Practice

Westside Animal Clinic, a privately owned and community-centered practice in Georgia, is looking for a Veterinary Managing Technician to join our growing team.
This is more than just a technician role we’re looking for someone ready to lead. You’ll bring a strong work ethic, proven leadership skills, and the desire to grow beyond the traditional technician position.

About the Role

As the Managing Technician, you will support our medical team in all aspects of patient care while also helping lead and mentor our talented floor technicians. We have a solid team of skilled technicians now we need someone with leadership skills to elevate and organize the team.
You will work closely with the Practice Manager and Chief of Staff to ensure smooth clinic operations, uphold high medical standards, and support the development of less experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Medical Support

  • Assist veterinarians in exams, treatments, surgeries, radiology, diagnostics, and patient follow-ups
  • Perform lab work, administer medications, collect samples, and monitor patient recovery
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

Leadership & Team Management

  • Train and supervise veterinary assistants and support staff
  • Oversee clinic flow, manage exam room activity, and support an efficient daily schedule
  • Ensure team adherence to clinic policies and procedures
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to foster growth within the technician team

Clinic Operations

  • Maintain equipment, inventory, and clean clinical areas
  • Support front desk and end-of-day processes as needed
  • Direct the team during slower periods and ensure productive downtime
  • Stay engaged in professional development and continuing education

Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (or eligible to become licensed)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a veterinary clinic setting
  • Strong leadership qualities and a desire to mentor others
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with veterinary software (Cornerstone preferred)
  • High personal accountability, reliability, and a strong work ethic
  • Committed to long-term growth within the veterinary profession

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $22 to $27 per hour, depending on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Two weeks of paid leave
  • Annual continuing education is covered by the hospital
