We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian Technician to join the team at our successful clinic. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. Responsibilities
Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic
Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history
Take vital signs and acquire blood samples
Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery
Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients
Keep accurate patient records
Qualifications
2+ years of Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role
Knowledge of animal care and handling
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
Patience and a love for animals
Compensation: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
About Us
Dr. Sergio Iniguez was born and raised in Madera, California. As a child Dr Sergio picked and pruned grapes during school vacations. During his high school years, he had the opportunity to work with Madera native and bull riding champion legend Dr. LeTourneau. While working for Dr. LeTourneau, he was influenced and inspired to become a veterinarian. After high school he studied at Loma Linda University and earned an Associate of Science degree in Surgical technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy. At Loma Linda University Medical Center he had the opportunity to help patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. Soon after he attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his final year at Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Immediately after completing veterinary school, Dr. Sergio had the opportunity to teach respiratory therapy students and veterinary technician students. Teaching respiratory therapy students ranged from lectures to supervising students for case studies at many Central Valley hospitals such as Madera Children’s Hospital and UCSF Medical Center. Dr. Sergio has a passion for helping those around him, for the last 3 years he has organized veterinary missionary trips to Mexico. Dr. Sergio has worked alongside Dr. Fred for the past few months and fell in love with Chowchilla and surrounding communities.
