Job Description - Veterinary Technician - Oncology

Join Our Oncology Team at Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers – Bonita Springs, FL

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of pets and the people who love them as a Veterinary Technician in our Oncology Department. At Fetch, we are a family-owned specialty and emergency hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to our community.

As a Veterinary Technician in our Oncology Department, you’ll be part of a close-knit, expert team working side-by-side with board-certified oncologists and experienced veterinary professionals. Together, you’ll provide cutting-edge treatments, comfort, and hope to pets and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including handling, restraint, and medication administration
  • Collect and record patient history and vital signs
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for procedures
  • Monitor and document patient progress during and after treatment
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures, such as blood work, cytology, and radiology
  • Administer treatments, including chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians
  • Assist with specialized procedures like ultrasound, biopsy, and CT scans
  • Monitor patients during anesthesia and post-anesthesia recovery
  • Provide support and education to pet owners
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician, preferably in an oncology or specialty setting
  • Certification as a veterinary technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical procedures and materials
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
  • Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
  • Proficiency with veterinary software and basic computer skills
