Veterinary Technician - Surgery

Friendship Hospital for Animals, a top-tier AAHA-accredited facility in Washington, D.C., is on the lookout for a veterinary technician to join our specialty surgery team. If you thrive on hands-on patient care outside of the operating room, enjoy connecting with clients, and know your way around a bandage wrap better than most—we are looking for you!

About the role: 

In this role, you’ll be a key member of our specialty surgery team, supporting a variety of responsibilities including appointments, lab work, sedated exams, bandage changes, and minor procedures. Confidence with client communication is essential, as is a strong background in sedation and anesthesia monitoring. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, pays close attention to detail, and is always ready to lend a hand. A passion for learning and a team-first mindset are must-haves.

Schedule: This is a full time role with four 10 hour shifts per week with a rotating Saturday shift.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician strongly preferred


• 1-2 years experience monitoring anesthetized and sedated patients in a veterinary setting
