About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP & Corporate Counsel for Franchise Transactions to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support in meeting the company's growth objectives, as well as offering owner relations and day-to-day operations legal assistance for a large portfolio of franchised properties. This role involves negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing legal advice and training on franchise-related issues. The VP & Corporate Counsel will also be involved in specific projects, such as acquisitions and multi-unit deals, and must be able to work effectively with various stakeholders, including owners, lenders, and internal teams.Candidates for this position should have an excellent academic and professional track record, with a law degree from a reputable institution and a minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in commercial transactions. Proven contract drafting and negotiating skills are essential, as is the ability to identify and analyze legal issues and provide sound recommendations in line with business practices. The role requires strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and foster relationships across the organization. The ideal candidate will be adept at influencing and facilitating the implementation of creative solutions, and be committed to upholding the highest standards of legal and ethical practice.
