About the Role
The Company, a leading online automobile marketplace, is seeking a Vice President of Data to join their Senior Management Team. This role is a high-visibility position that requires a technical and business leader to oversee data science, data engineering, and product data analytics. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the company's data vision, improving decision-making processes, and leading the development and implementation of data management strategies. They will also be tasked with staying abreast of emerging data trends and technologies, managing and growing a multi-disciplined technology team, and ensuring that data is treated as a first-class citizen across the organization.Applicants should have over 10 years of experience running data teams, dynamic leadership skills, and a deep understanding of complex system and data challenges. Prior technical expertise in areas such as engineering, data analytics, BI, machine learning, or data science is essential. Experience with data technologies like Snowflake, Snowplow, DBT, Fivetran, Sagemaker, Looker, Tableau, or similar is required. The role demands a passion for mentorship, a strong track record of delivering results, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Candidates should also have experience in site-instrumentation, user journey tracking, and managing large-scale tracking platforms, as well as managing the entire core data tech stack, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis.
