About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Emerging Technology & Digital Technology Strategy to serve as the chief strategist for new and emerging technologies. This role is responsible for leading the team that evaluates the viability of these technologies within the company's ecosystem, managing Gen AI/Incubator and Digital Enterprise Architecture teams, and maintaining day-to-day relationships with global IT teams to ensure client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in application architecture and development leadership, with a strong background in defining and supporting enterprise-scale consumer websites in the hospitality industry. They should also have a proven track record of digital thought leadership, experience with a range of technologies including GraphQL, SPA architecture, and API Gateways, and a demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technology initiatives.Candidates for this role at the company should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for advanced degrees, and have a deep understanding of Agile development methodologies and ITIL v4 Framework. The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong R&D mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively. The VP will be expected to champion the adoption of emerging technologies, lead continuous improvement programs, and ensure that the company's application development standards and processes are in line with industry best practices. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage complex budgets and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience in the hospitality, travel, or retail industry is a must, as is a proven ability to align technology with business strategies.
