Job Description - Vice President, Events & Experiences

Harrison Street Asset Management ("HSAM") is a leading global alternative investment management firm focused on real estate, infrastructure, and credit strategies across North America and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, Toronto, and London with offices across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the firm has over $108 billion in assets under management on behalf of institutional investors and registered investment advisors globally.

Founded on a culture of innovation, HSAM is an early mover in alternative real estate and mid-market infrastructure. Today, the firm’s global team, consisting of more than 520 professionals, is committed to creating long-term value through deep sector expertise and forward-thinking strategies.

Harrison Street is seeking a Vice President of Events and Experiences to lead the design and delivery of best in class, highly differentiated experiences for institutional investors, senior executives, and employees.

This role operates at the intersection of investor relations, brand, and employee experience, translating firm priorities into curated, memorable engagements that elevate the Harrison Street brand.

This individual will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team and is accountable for delivering consistently exceptional experiences. Every event should feel intentional, unique, and executed at a level that reflects the firm’s ambition and attention to detail.

This is not a traditional event planning role. It requires strong creative judgment, a high bar for quality, and the ability to deliver original, thoughtful experiences that stand out.

Responsibilities:

Investor & Client Experiences

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of our flagship investor conference, including program development, content coordination, venue selection, and on-site execution

  • Design and deliver bespoke experiences for institutional investors and senior clients, including exclusive events (e.g., The Masters, private dinners, and industry conferences)

  • Partner with Investor Relations and senior executives to align event strategy with broader client engagement and fundraising objectives

  • Elevate the firm’s brand through thoughtful, high-touch details (gifting, hospitality, personalization)

Executive & CEO-Led Initiatives

  • Work directly with the CEO to develop and execute strategic event concepts that support firm priorities and relationships

  • Serve as a trusted partner in managing high-profile, confidential, and time-sensitive initiatives

  • Ensure seamless execution and white-glove experience for senior executives and external stakeholders

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Design and execute a thoughtful and elevated employee events strategy across offices

  • Oversee internal events that reinforce our culture and employee experience, including town halls, offsites, and social programming (e.g., happy hours, celebrations, firm-wide events)

  • Create experiences that strengthen culture, drive engagement, and feel distinct from typical corporate events

  • Manage branded materials and employee-facing touchpoints, including curated swag and gifting programs

Operations & Vendor Management

  • Own event budgets, timelines, and logistics with a strong focus on efficiency and quality

  • Build and manage relationships with venues, agencies, and vendors globally

  • Implement scalable processes and best practices across all event types

  • Track and evaluate event effectiveness, incorporating feedback and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in event planning, experiential marketing, or hospitality, preferably within a high-touch corporate environment

  • Experience supporting senior executives and institutional clients in high visibility settings

  • Proven ability to deliver complex, high quality events with strong attention to detail

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once

  • Strong creative instincts paired with disciplined execution

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization

  • High level of discretion and professionalism

  • Willingness to travel and support events outside of standard business hours

  • Experience managing budgets and vendor negotiations

Key Attributes:

  • Exceptional aesthetic judgment and taste

  • High bar for quality and unwillingness to settle for standard or repeatable formats

  • Creative thinker who brings original ideas and a strong point of view

  • Thinks like a host, not an organizer

  • Calm under pressure; solutions-focused

  • Highly polished and professional

  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a big-picture perspective

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Proactive, resourceful, and accountable

What Sets This Role Apart:

  • Direct partnership with the CEO and senior leadership

  • Opportunity to define how our brand shows up with investors and employees

  • High degree of ownership and creative autonomy

$150,000 - $190,000 a year

For Illinois Only: The expected base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000. Actual salaries may vary based on a number of factors, including skills, experience, and qualifications.
