SUMMARY OF POSITION: In partnership with the President, the Vice President for Enrollment Management is responsible for the overall leadership, development of recruitment and enrollment strategy, and performance of the University's marketing, recruitment, and enrollment management of all undergraduate and graduate programs. The Vice President develops recruitment strategy and oversees the operations of the admissions office for all students, including: undergraduate, non-traditional, transfer, online, graduate, extension programs, and international, and will coordinate with other offices on campus (including the offices of the Financial Planning, Registrar, Institutional Research, Communications, and Student Success) to ensure a student-focused and seamless approach to the enrollment cycle, as well as efficient and ethical enrollment processes for recruitment and continued enrollment. The VP for Enrollment Management will be an exceptional leader of people and programs with the interpersonal skills to create a community and culture of enrollment excellence. The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of success in enrollment management; the ability to create and execute forward-thinking recruitment and marketing strategies; a record of evidence-based decision-making and exceptional analytical skills; and the ability to utilize data to further enrollment strategies. The successful candidate must have an appreciation for and commitment to the values of diversity, access, and inclusivity, and be able to effectively build relationships with multiple constituencies. He or she will be a leader who can work both autonomously and as a member of a tightly knit senior leadership team. He or she will have a deep understanding of and commitment to the value of a private, residential liberal arts education as well as the benefits and opportunities of convenient non-traditional educational programs.
The VP for Enrollment Management will have the ability to develop and implement creative solutions and strategies. He or she will be open to seek and learn new and better ways to achieve the goals and needs of the University and to work across divisions.
The VP for Enrollment Management will be dedicated to the mission of the University and to strengthening the University's relationship with internal and external stakeholders. The VP for Enrollment Management will represent the University accurately and enthusiastically to all of its varied constituencies.
The VP for Enrollment Management will possess a bachelor's degree, with strong preference given to candidates with a graduate degree. The candidate must have at least five years of experience in higher education in enrollment management and in helping to build and manage effective, collaborative, cross-divisional programs and teams. At least three years of cabinet-level experience is preferred.
The VP for Enrollment Management will have the ability to practice "state of the art" recruitment, retention, and marketing strategies. He or she will be an effective planner and provide evidence of excellent organization and management skills.
The VP for Enrollment Management will have an understanding and appreciation of the strategic uses of all resources, including financial aid, in enrollment management. He or she also will be well-grounded in database enrollment management techniques.
The VP for Enrollment Management will be adept in leading and managing a staff and in establishing excellent working relationships with the Board of Trustees, president, vice presidents, deans, faculty, staff, alumni, and others in the community.
The VP for Enrollment Management will have excellent analytical, writing and speaking skills.
