About the Role The Company is seeking a Vice President for Government, Community, and Corporate Relations to lead and manage all engagement activities at the executive and legislative levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the company's interests with governmental, community, and corporate entities, and must have a deep understanding of policy initiatives, private corporate agendas, and the priorities of local school systems and community groups. Key responsibilities include serving as the lead government relations contact, advising leadership, creating and managing the company's strategy and legislative agenda, preparing submissions and testimony, and monitoring and interpreting laws and regulations that impact the company. The role also involves managing lobbyist activities, organizing meetings with officials, and integrating the company's service delivery with local entities.Applicants for the Vice President position must have a graduate or professional degree in a relevant field such as law, political science, public policy, or public administration, and a minimum of 3 years' of government relations experience, with specific knowledge of the District of Columbia's legislative process. The role requires a candidate who can effectively network, build, and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and who can lead educational outreach, community engagement, and corporate partnership initiatives. The Vice President will also be instrumental in defining and implementing strategies to support the company's strategic plans, including specific projects in designated areas and initiatives in collaboration with local school systems. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
