About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Government and Regulatory Affairs to serve as the primary representative for the company's interests before various governmental and regulatory bodies. This role involves engaging with US legislators, regulators, regional transmission organizations, and industry associations to ensure that the company's interests are considered and protected in relevant legislation, regulations, and policies. The successful candidate will also be involved in business development initiatives, market design due diligence for new projects, and will be expected to have a detailed understanding of the political and legislative framework at the federal level and in key US power markets.Applicants for the Vice President, Government and Regulatory Affairs role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 15 years' of experience in advocacy, legislative policy, and leadership engagement within the industry. The position requires a proven track record of providing testimony before legislative or regulatory bodies, as well as experience in advocating for changes to legislation, regulations, and policies, particularly in the clean energy industry. The candidate must have the ability to research and communicate effectively with senior-level staff, and to strategize ways to amend, block, or expand laws to benefit the company. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, as is the ability to travel domestically up to 30-40% of the time.
