About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Head of Medical Affairs. This role is pivotal in establishing and leading the medical affairs function, with responsibilities including creating and implementing a vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business strategies and legal and regulatory guidelines, and leading key sub-functions such as medical communications, medical affairs operations, and field medical affairs. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD), at least 15 years of experience in Medical Affairs, a proven track record of successful product launches in the US and Europe within oncology and rare diseases, and experience in integrating medical affairs within a corporate governance structure.The VP, Head of Medical Affairs will be expected to have a strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They must prioritize the patient and the patient community, possess leadership and problem-solving skills, and maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise. The role requires routine travel and demands a hands-on approach in a lean organization. The candidate should be adept at managing a mix of direct reports and external consultants and vendors, and have experience engaging with payer organizations, health technology assessors, and regulatory agencies.
