About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Human Resources with a strong background in biotech to lead the development and expansion of the HR and Talent Acquisition function. This executive will be a key member of the leadership team, serving as a strategic business partner, a trusted advisor, and a proactive planner. The role requires a hands-on approach, with the VP expected to be a change management navigator and an effective overseer of HR operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in guiding a biotech company through the transition from research to early drug development stages and be adept at aligning HR strategies with the organization's strategic objectives.Responsibilities for this position include establishing a physical presence within the company, building relationships with employees at all levels, and ensuring that the HR organization is a respected and confidential resource for all HR-related matters. The VP will also be responsible for overseeing benefits administration, ensuring compliance with state and federal legislation, and developing comprehensive talent acquisition and retention strategies. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in HR are required, with a preference for candidates with a background in biotech and pharmaceutical environments. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing employee relations, leading HR through organizational transitions, and interacting effectively with the Board of Directors. Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills are essential, as is a passion for building the HR function from the ground up.
