About the Role
The Company, a leading healthcare organization focused on researching and developing medicines and vaccines, is seeking a VP Medicines Development Leader for Oncology. This role is pivotal in strategically leading the global development of a medicine, serving as the single point of accountability from Commit to Phase 2 (C2P2) to approval in the first major market. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the strategic vision and operational plan for the medicine, creating and leading a matrix medicine development team, and ensuring the delivery of differentiated medicines of value. Key responsibilities include prioritizing and managing the asset's portfolio options, making evidence-based decisions, embedding core processes, and enhancing patient focus by incorporating the voice of the patient into development plans.Candidates must have an advanced degree, extensive broad drug development expertise, and pharmaceutical industry experience. They should have a track record of success in leading complex, global, and multi-disciplinary organizations, as well as experience in late-phase Oncology development, clinical trial management, and post-approval studies. The role requires strong leadership, motivational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions. Additionally, the candidate should have a deep understanding of the healthcare environment, including all key external stakeholders, and be able to demonstrate ethical medical decision-making skills. Preferred qualifications include an MD, PhD, or PharmD, and experience in managing a sizable P&L with organizational impact.
