Are you a strategic fundraising leader ready to make a meaningful impact? As our next Vice President of Advancement, you will lead transformational initiatives that support our mission, build community partnerships, and advocate for services that change lives.


The Vice President of Advancement will design and implement comprehensive institutional advancement strategies to enhance Heartspring’s capacity for community impact. This includes leading fundraising, community engagement, advocacy, and donor relations. You’ll drive major campaigns, cultivate deep philanthropic relationships, and help position Heartspring as a regional and national leader in pediatric neurodevelopmental services.

This is more than a fundraising job—it’s an opportunity to shape the future of care, inclusion, and opportunity for children and families who need it most. In this role you will:

Lead With Vision (Leadership)

  • Develop and implement bold advancement strategies aligned with organizational growth goals.
  • Inspire and manage a team of dedicated fundraising and engagement professionals.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure alignment and innovation across departments.
  • Ensure ethical and inclusive practices in line with the AFP Donor Bill of Rights.

Build Possibility through Fundraising (Possibility)

  • Spearhead strategies for major, planned, and annual gifts.
  • Personally manage a portfolio of high-level donors, securing transformational gifts.
  • Design campaigns that engage individual, corporate, and foundation partners.
  • Set and exceed aspirational fundraising goals. 

Champion Advocacy & Legislative Affairs (Possibility)

  • Partner with leadership and lobbyists to drive public policy supporting our mission.
  • Monitor and respond to legislative developments at state and federal levels.
  • Represent Heartspring in coalitions, forums, and policymaking discussions. 

Elevate Community Engagement (Service)

  • Expand civic, corporate, and volunteer partnerships that fuel our mission.
  • Develop strategic events and initiatives that deepen public support.
  • Promote Heartspring’s presence as a trusted and vital part of the community. 

Drive Results with Data (Excellence)

  • Lead the implementation of CRM tools for efficient donor tracking and stewardship.
  • Use data analytics to guide decision-making and improve performance.
  • Establish clear metrics and reporting systems to measure success.

Empower and Inspire Your Team (Leadership)

  • Lead, coach, and support staff in a collaborative and mission-centered environment.
  • Promote open communication, accountability, and continuous growth.
  • Create a culture of celebration and shared success.

Demonstrate Integrity and Professionalism (Integrity)

  • Ensure compliance, confidentiality, and alignment with Heartspring’s values and policies.
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and purpose in all interactions.

Requirements

What You Need To Bring:

  • A deep passion for mission-driven work and community impact. 
  • Proven success securing major gifts of $1M+ and managing complex donor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of donor stewardship, campaign strategy, and legislative advocacy.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Experience managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, data analysis, and outcome-based reporting.  

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred). 
  • 6+ years of progressive fundraising experience. 
  • 2+ years of team leadership or management experience.
