About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Development to lead the market development team and drive the success of large fundraising events in the region. The role involves operationalizing the vision, managing staff, and implementing strategic priorities to ensure that market revenue goals are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging high-level executives as volunteers and corporate partners, as well as owning the overall strategy for successful fundraising. This includes preparing the operating budget, meeting financial targets, and building a network of volunteer partnerships to advance the mission of fighting heart disease and stroke.Applicants for the Vice President, Development position should have a university/college degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in non-profit fundraising and 2 to 3 years of managerial experience. A consistent record of meeting and exceeding sales or fundraising goals is essential, as is the ability to secure corporate donations and major sponsorships. The role requires strong volunteer recruitment and management skills, excellent organizational and communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic work environment. The candidate must be willing to work outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends, and be prepared for daily local travel.
