Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as Vice President of Engineering at Hyniva, located in San Antonio, TX. As Vice President of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering team, overseeing software development projects, driving product development initiatives, and ensuring successful project delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and execute engineering strategies to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
End-to-end technical leadership of a complex global ecosystem of digital solutions, from design and implementation to launch and management.
Strategic business perspective, anticipating key marketplace trends, opportunities, and vulnerabilities, and representing how technology may enable client IT strategy roadmap
Deep understanding of how emerging technologies, such as big data, analytics, machine learning, and low code/no code, relate to digital IT solutions and customer experience.
Experience leading Enterprise Applications development, particularly in the areas of javascript/typescript-based languages, Java, Python, and AWS services
Ensuring adoption of modern software development practices, including secure SDLC, SafeAgile, test automation, CI/CD, and DevOps practice
Establishing regular reporting, progress against goals, tracking of KPIs and various metrics to share with senior leadership and business unit executives.
Talent leadership involves coaching team members to their maximum potential by providing objective and actionable career guidance and opportunities, identifying talent gaps, and recruiting and retaining high-quality technology talent.
Partnering closely with product management to define the roadmaps, develop and deliver on new services to address market and customer needs.
Accountable for the quality, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), maintainability and security of the solutions built.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Education & Experience
15+ years’ experience in building Enterprise Applications, Customer Experience portals, API, and web-based high-traffic software systems with 99.99% uptime.
8+ years experience in leading architecture and software development teams designing technology platforms and their integrations with 3rd party systems.
Experience in AWS Technologies, FullStack Development, and other cloud technologies will be a plus.
Proven success working closely with Clients and Project Management, contributing to the product strategy, and helping to deliver on client projects & product roadmap successfully.
Experience working in a medium—to large-size (200+) engineering organization as lead/chief architect, managing a team of architects, and being a tiebreaker and glue between different architecture and engineering leaders.
