About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Legal or General Counsel to join their innovative team, which is dedicated to revolutionizing the healthcare experience. The successful candidate will be the organization's first in-house legal expert and a key member of the leadership team. This role is pivotal in providing strategic guidance, shaping legal strategies, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The VP of Legal will oversee all legal matters, including contract negotiation, corporate governance, compliance, and intellectual property. They will also be responsible for policy engagement with local and national stakeholders, managing the company's intellectual property portfolio, and advising on data protection and privacy laws.Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice in one or more U.S. jurisdictions, and ideally have a license in California. A minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience is required, with a strong background in technology, healthcare, IT, and intellectual property. Experience in Professional Corporation structures in medical and healthcare contexts is also preferred. The role demands excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing legal matters, negotiating contracts, and leading legal, risk, and compliance teams.
