About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of National Construction to lead and execute its construction strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities within the company's operating portfolio and development program. This role involves supporting the Chief Investment Officer and senior leadership in construction matters, shaping construction policies to align with strategic objectives, and leading a national team of construction professionals. The Vice President will also be expected to provide technical expertise, monitor project quality and quantity, develop and maintain construction standards, and enhance relationships with external partners such as general contractors and design consultants. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, at least fifteen years of experience in commercial construction, and a proven track record in managing large-scale retail construction projects.Applicants for the Vice President of National Construction position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of fifteen years of experience in commercial construction, including management experience on projects exceeding $50M. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various types of commercial construction and site development, as well as significant experience with green building practices and certifications. Proficiency in industry software and applications, as well as the ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, is essential. A Master's degree, experience in managing construction for multiple grocery-anchored center developments, and proficiency in design software and accounting systems are preferred. Personal traits that are highly valued include proven leadership skills, expert project management abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity for decisive problem-solving.
