Mission of Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President of Finance (Treasury) will lead the organization’s treasury and balance sheet management activities, including asset/liability management (ALM), investment portfolio management, liquidity strategy, interest rate risk (IRR), budgeting, forecasting, and related financial analysis.
This executive will partner closely with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to support enterprise financial strategy, optimize balance sheet performance, and help modernize treasury and financial infrastructure as they continue to grow.
Accountabilities
Treasury & Balance Sheet Management
Lead treasury, funding strategy, and balance sheet management activities
Oversee the investment portfolio, funding strategies, and broker-dealer relationships
Execute balance sheet strategies including loan sales, brokered deposits, and liquidity actions
Monitor economic and interest rate trends and assess impacts on financial performance
Develop strategies to optimize liquidity, earnings, and overall balance sheet performance
Lead ALM forecasting, IRR analysis, stress testing, and scenario modeling
Oversee deposit decay assumptions, loan prepayment analysis, and liquidity forecasting
Serve as a key contributor to the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO)
Provide strategic recommendations related to balance sheet risk and performance
Financial Planning & Analytics
Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting activities
Oversee enterprise financial modeling, variance analysis, and executive reporting
Support profitability and pricing analysis across products and business lines
Partner with department leaders to support data-driven decision-making
Leadership & Strategic Partnership
Lead, coach, and develop the Finance and Treasury teams
Partner cross-functionally with lending, accounting, operations, and executive leadership
Present financial analysis and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, ALCO, and Board stakeholders
Support regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance activities
Strategic Transformation
Help modernize treasury, ALM, forecasting, and reporting infrastructure
Evaluate and improve financial systems, modeling tools, and vendor relationships
Support the organization’s broader digital transformation and growth initiative
Requirements
Experience Needed
8–10+ years of progressive finance or treasury leadership experience within a credit union, community bank, or other regulated financial institution
Deep expertise in ALM, IRR, liquidity management, fixed-income investments, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Experience leading ALCO reporting, executive presentations, and balance sheet strategy
Working knowledge of CECL, financial modeling, and treasury analytics
Strong analytical, modeling, and Excel skills; experience with ALM and budgeting platforms (Axiom preferred)
MBA, CFA, CPA, or other advanced financial credential preferred
Preferred: Credit union industry experience; Experience with ALM modernization, fixed-income transaction execution, loan sales, brokered deposits, hedging strategies, profitability analytics, and funds transfer pricing (FTP); Familiarity with regulatory exam environments
