About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of UX to spearhead the user experience strategy for its digital marketplace, which connects product designers and inventors with manufacturers. The successful candidate will lead a team of UX professionals, including designers, researchers, and writers, and will be responsible for coaching and developing this team. A key aspect of the role is to advocate for user-centered practices across the organization and to become an expert in the diverse user and product landscape served by the company. The VP of UX will also work closely with the Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer to evolve the product operating model and guide the quarterly planning process by forming and prioritizing cross-functional objectives.Applicants for the VP of UX position should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in UX, with at least 5 years in a management role leading UX designers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a team of at least 15 people, including other managers, and of developing UX leadership within product development organizations. Experience in creating and leveraging both qualitative and quantitative insights, as well as a strong commitment to collaboration and feedback, is essential. A background in companies where service design was a significant aspect of UX practices is a bonus. The role requires a leader who is passionate about coaching and developing talent and who can drive the transformation of the organization into empowered, outcome-oriented product teams.
