Victim Support Specialist

We are looking for experienced and compassionate Social Workers to work on behalf of attorneys to assist with gathering information from victims of sexual abuse. Due to the sensitive nature of the information being gathered, we are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of experience as a social worker or similar role. (this includes working directly with victims of sexual abuse and interviewing.)

A key to succeeding in this role is the ability to stay calm and empathize with clients when they are upset or about to go into crisis. You should also be aware of others’ reactions and understand why they react as they do. In this role, you act as a liaison between attorneys and the clients they represent in a mass tort lawsuit involving sexual abuse. Gathering detailed information about incidents is crucial for building a stronger case for clients.

Social Worker Responsibilities:

Perform detailed, lengthy interviews by telephone with sex abuse victims involved in a mass tort law suite.

Have the ability to gather detailed notes and relevant information for case purposes.

Handle and manage any escalated situations when talking to SA victims in crisis.

Handle and manage escalated situations when speaking to SA victims in crisis, ensuring ethical and efficient de-escalation.

Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.

Exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Abuse Survivor Support Specialist Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field.

3+ Years Experience working with clients that have suffered abuse

Ability to give full attention to what clients are saying, understand the points being made, ask questions, and not interrupt inappropriately.

Awareness of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.

Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.

Proficient in Word, Excel, Google Sheets and CRMs.

Ability to stay calm and empathize with clients when they are upset.

Licensed clinical social worker preferred.

Pay Range $33.00-$36.00 per hour
