Job Description - Video Coordinator 1 (Spanish-Bilingual Preferred)

Department: Multimedia Communications 

Area:District Wide 

Contract Months:12 

Salary Range: $75,000.00  $95,000.00 

Academic Year: 25-26 

JOB SUMMARY

Work directly with the Communications team on producing, shooting, and editing high-priority video projects and District messaging.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Produce, shoot, design, and edit videos for District platforms, including the website, TV channel, and social media platforms
2.    Provides project management and coordination for all aspects of television production from concept to finished product. . Plans, produces, and directs District content for television, ensuring program completion is on time and within budget.
3.    Coordinates with HISD administrators, board members, teachers, students, parents and community leaders to plan and execute on- and off-site events including, press conferences, meetings, and press interviews Coordination includes all the technical and logistical aspects of the production, as well as the final product.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED

4.    Conceives and formulates future educational and informational television programs while collaborating with multiple departments to meet HISD’s education and communication goals.
5.    Works with videography, editing, graphics and animation, using both analog and digital cameras and editing systems to assemble television productions. Conducts on camera and off camera interviews of subject matter experts contributing to the program.
6.    Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma/ Vocational / Technical school/ Some college preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE

Proven experience of 5-7 years in a related field

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Microsoft Office, Final Cut Pro; Adobe Photoshop

Texas driver’s license required

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees, but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing typically involves monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of same duties they are leading.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS

Decisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

Information sharing - gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instructions and reporting results. Interactions are with coworkers, District leaders, students, families and campus staff, including teachers and principals.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

Takes routine or required client actions to meet client needs. Responds promptly and accurately to client complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up. May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates.

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions. Work will require occasional travel to campuses and facilities within the District.
Ability to carry and/or lift at least 30 pounds.
