VIR Festival Grounds Manager

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to procure, coordinate, and execute festivals, concerts, and any happenings on the Virginia International Raceway festival grounds. 

Responsibilities

• Responsible for simplifying, organizing, and communicating details of each event to Management and how the Festival Grounds Event works with the VIR day to day operations
• Maintain strong client relations and ensure that event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful experience for the presenters, vendors and attendees.
• Cost out and create venue contracts as well as other important information.
• Participate in site visits and plan meetings for upcoming events and potential affiliate business.
• Report any issues with the grounds or surrounding areas that need attention in a time fashion
• Maintain budgets for staffing, equipment, and supplies for events. 
• Ability to master plan and diversify the offerings of the Festival Grounds.
• Ability to understand and enforce VIR policies and to make weather related calls

• Extensive knowledge of festival and concert operations, artist relations and contracting, back of house, ticket pricing stage set ups, parking and traffic plans, event security, vendors and merchandise sales.
• Excellent communication and people skills 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and be detailed, organized

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in
• the workplace with good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work and schedule support with outside organizations.
