Vision Support Educator Illinois Districts

• Provide both direct and consultative services across school settings.
  


• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
  


• Implement and support the use of assistive technology and accessible materials.
  


• Conduct assessments such as Functional Vision and Learning Media Assessments.
  


• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized learning plans.
  

Requirements

1. Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
   


2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
   


3. Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Visual Impairments.
   


4. Knowledge of Braille instruction, orientation and mobility principles, and assistive tech tools.
