Job Details
The Visitation Coordinator provides coordination for visitation services for abused/neglected children in foster care and for their families. Visitation Coordinator services involve creating and maintaining visitation schedule, providing training, supervision and evaluation of Visitation Specialists, transporting children and/or parents, and supervision of visitation at the family home, agency or other designated community locations, including correctional facilities. Coordinator and their staff provide observation and parenting coaching/intervention with birth parents during parenting-time visits and documentation of parent child interactions for the case record, as well as sibling visitation transport and supervision as needed. The Visitation Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the agency visit schedule is maintained to meet case needs by visitation staff, caseworkers, and by covering visits directly as needed. The Visitation Coordinator ensures the safety of the child during supervised parenting-time visits, documenting visit progress as well as providing transportation to and from visit for the child(ren), as well as overseeing the staff who are providing these services.

Requirements
The Visitation Coordinator shall hold a minimum of a high school diploma and some college in a human services field. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a related human services field is strongly preferred. Experience in a child welfare setting with children and families is strongly preferred. Supervisory experience?in a professional setting?preferred.???
Appropriate candidate for this position must have the ability to handle stress well, be an active listener, possess strong safety assessment skills, be flexible and able to handle change and be a team player yet able to work independently. Candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to manage a complex schedule with logistical challenges, be able to multi-task, and maintain follow-through on all assigned duties. The Visitation Coordinator must be reliable, organized, energetic, very detail-oriented, and aware of priorities and deadlines in order to maximize efficiency.
Knowledge of car seat safety and proper installation desirable. The Visitation Coordinator shall have computer knowledge and the ability to grasp the necessary software utilized in the job tasks. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and operate office equipment.
The Visitation Coordinator must be able to safely drive without restrictions. Must have the ability to transport children, be able to maneuver body to install car seats and place children in them. Must be able to climb stairs, bend and crouch, and maneuver through homes. The Visitation Coordinator position requires non-traditional work hours including regular evening hours, as well as the possibility of weekend assignments.
Strong written and oral communication skills, professionalism, organizational skills, comfort and experience working with children and families is necessary. Proven ability to train, mentor, evaluate and oversee staff is required.
Candidate may not have been convicted of child abuse or neglect, a felony involving harm or threatened harm to an individual within the 10 years immediately preceding the date of hire or be listed on the central registry as a perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect. The Visitation Coordinator shall possess a valid Driver’s License, safe/reliable transportation in clean and good repair, positive driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
