As a Vocational Counselor, you’ll connect people with meaningful employment while building stronger, more inclusive communities in Fredericksburg.

What You’ll Do

• Identify individuals’ strengths, interests, and career goals.


• Develop personalized employment plans and provide career guidance.


• Assist with resumes, applications, interviews, job readiness, and onboarding.


• Provide one-on-one and on-the-job coaching.


• Build relationships with local employers and identify employment opportunities.


• Support workplace accommodations, assistive technology, and natural supports.


• Connect individuals with community and employment resources.


• Maintain accurate documentation and track progress.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, resourceful, and motivated to help others succeed.

• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.


• Comfortable working in a field-based/community setting.


• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with current insurance.


• Ability to complete required background and drug screenings.

Experience in the following is a plus:

• Vocational rehabilitation


• Employment services or job coaching


• Workforce development


• Human or disability services


• Case management


• Working with veterans or individuals with disabilities
