Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator

1. Outreach/Recruiting Volunteers
   1. Recruit volunteer groups and individuals through outlets such as companies, faith communities, educational settings, etc.
   2. Conduct interviews and background checks for volunteers to ensure they are a good fit for OSCS
   3. Stay connected with OSCS program staff to fully understand volunteer needs and update roles to meet evolving needs
   4. Coordinate with program staff to schedule volunteers
   5. Keep volunteer job descriptions and in-kind donation needs updated
2. Build and Maintain Relationships with Volunteers
   1. Help volunteers through the onboarding process
   2. Along with OSCS program staff, develop training materials for volunteers
   3. Welcome new volunteers and check in with existing volunteers on a regular basis
   4. Develop and implement ways to thank and celebrate volunteers
   5. Implement plans to help volunteers expand their experiences within the organization
   6. Coordinate volunteer events
   7. Supervise volunteers of OSCS
3. Documentation
   1. Track volunteer information in database and calendars
   2. Maintain a system for tracking in-kind donations
   3. Provide statistics and reports as needed on volunteer data
4. Collaboration
   1. Be a collaborative member of the Development and Communications team
   2. Coordinate with the Shelter Cook and staff for meal planning
   3. Attend Development and Communications team meetings as scheduled
   4. Share volunteer and in-kind donation needs and information to be included in external communications
   5. Actively participate in building a culture of belonging within OSCS
   6. Work toward the OSCS mission of building skills and improving lives, and uphold our organizational values
   7. Train staff on volunteerism, procedures, and policies

• Demonstrates cultural fluency and commitment to diversity
• Works well both independently and collaboratively
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Well organized and pays attention to detail
• Enjoys solving problems

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience managing projects
• Experience with databases such as Bloomerang is a plus
• Experience creating training or instructional materials is a plus

Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt

Pay rate: $22-$24 hourly rate
